Little Sponges

I know this is such a cliché but kids really are like little sponges. Every time we drive close to M’s dance class building she always points out that her dance class is over “there”. She still remembers the “marble” drink she had at a local Japanese restaurant a few months ago. Last week, M went downtown with Chris and I to my doctor’s office for the ultrasound. Chris pointed out the top of the building to M…..it’s blue. Yesterday, we were back in the city and passed by my doctor’s office from LSD which was not where she originally saw the building last week. She got all excited and pointed out that the blue building is where “Dr. Wilson” (that’s her doctor but she thinks all doctors are Dr. Wilson…too cute!!) will take her baby sister out of mommy's belly. I thought that was really amazing that she could point out that building out of the dozens of others surrounding it! Another funny thing is that we passed by a McDonald’s restaurant in the city and she said, “Hey, that’s McDonald’s! The “M” stands for McDonald’s.” (she’s learning what letters start with so she’s really into that now) I really don’t know why that surprised Chris and I so much except for the fact that she rarely goes there. Then, I tried to explain that I work for McDonald’s….that was an interesting discussion.

Ahh yes the sponges....when I was pregnant with Finn I had to take Emma with me to a late term and intimate exam and I wasn't comfortable leaving her in the waiting room by herself. Long story short the appointment was followed by a make-belive session involving a large Raggedy Ann doll a roll of toilet paper and some tongs. It was not to be missed!
