Today was a really exciting day. We went to the pool (which itself isn't yippee, yippee exciting). But today was like no other. M who is typically very cautious and not super adventurous took her first huge step to swimming. Out of nowhere she started diving into the water completely submerging herself for seconds at a time. At first, she shocked herself but soon became a girl crazed. She dove for 30 straight minutes. Afterwards, she decided she was a really big girl and swam in the deep water (with a tube of course). Grinning from ear to ear. This was a perfect day!

Sofa Traveling
I'm taking a break and watching Globe Trekker. The host on this particular show is my second favorite host Megan (My favorite is Ian. I LOVE Ian....no one can touch Ian...Ian rocks....Ian's the man!!). Anywho, I think I've been facebooking too much lately because I'm sitting here thinking "Man, I wonder what her 'Cities Visted' application would look like!!" I'm so pathetic!
On a different note, I had a work summer outing this afternoon at Arlington Racecourse. I bet on some ponies and lost $8. But what did I expect. My betting strategy was picking out the coolest names---I'm such a girl. I was there a couple of months ago with some other work function (summers are great!) and won some nice cash that I used to buy a piece of furniture. I used the same strategy. Oh well, can't win them all....my luck has run out.

Squirrels, Oh My!!
Today was a very relaxing day (except for the dental visit). Funny quote of the day......M and I were outside this evening when she screamed and pointed to the roof of the house. "Step Mother (yeah, she watches too much Cinderella), look there's a squirrel on our house. He's trying to EAT our house!!" I don't know why but that got my giggle box turned on!

Date Night
M's at a friend's house watching a movie so Chris and I took advantage. We walked over to the local gelato shop and got a scoop. A rare moment in deed!!!
Gateway to the West
We recently returned from a trip to St. Louis where we met my parents, brothers and their families for a vacation. None of us had been there before. We went during the MS river flooding so the river activities were closed along with the paths along the river. Otherwise the city was operating as normal. If you ever get up/down/over to St. Louis you should check out two things for sure----the City Museum and Rooster (a crepe restuarant). I saw my first Cardinals game.....HOT!

Portland Trip
A couple of weeks after Cat's graduation, we visited Chris' brother Mike (aka Howard Cosell) and his girlfriend Smelly Mel (and doggie) in Portland. They bought a new house a few months ago and have been hard at work doing renovations. The house is fabulous. We decided to rent a house at the coast for the weekend and met some friends there. Chris made an incredible crab dinner and we all sat around eating pie and watching some old footage of the Frigs as kids. Great laughs!
Hotlanta Trip
We traveled to Atlanta in May to visit Chris' family and celebrate....his sister graduated from law school. We had a really nice time.
I was able to squeeze in some time with my girlfriends from my paralegal days in Atlanta. We had brunch at the Flying Biscuit...an Atlanta institution.
While we were in Atlanta we also took a road trip to SC to see my family. It was perfect timing since my cousin Lori and her husband Mark and their girls G and J were back in the states. They had been overseas for a couple of years.....Mark's a Marine! We spend part of Mother's Day and had some "sisk" moments. Fun!!

Ready, Set, Go
We have jumped head first out of the cold, dreary winter into glorious summer. Funtimes. In March we traveled to San Diego. Chris (my husband) races in triathlons so he kicked off his 2008 season with a half Ironman. He completed Ironman Wisconsin in September so it is safe to say that he's a nut. We had a blast!
What the heck, I'll give it a shot....
I was inspired to start this blog from one of my good friends. She started a blog a few months ago and I am addicted. What an awesome way to journal your life. Let's get this party started.....
